In order to manifest your biggest dreams you must endure shift.
At the end of my 200-hour yoga teacher training in 2012, we were given the assignment of writing down our 1-year goals. We had to be very specific; who would we be with, what would we be doing, how would our lives be. Along with a love letter to myself and a self-addressed envelope, I returned these to my teachers for credit. One year later I received the envelope with the items inside. When I opened the envelope and read what I had written, I knew I had some work to do and if I really was going to have this life, something had to give.
In order to realize our greatest dreams we must first believe.
We must believe in something greater than ourselves, a higher self, a connection to our Divine. We must believe that anything is possible. Then we must learn to keep our hearts open. An open heart means that when experiences show up we simply allow them to pass through. There is no clinging to feelings like fear, doubt, guilt, or anger. No clinging to why we didn’t get our way or what we wanted.
“Yeah right” is what I have said many times because stuff like this is easier said than done.
I now know that believing and keeping an open heart is a practice just like yoga. The more you do it, the easier it gets. It doesn’t mean that these feelings won’t show up, they will. Shift is change and change can be painful and scary. The key is to stay open in your heart and connected to your higher self. Helen Keller once said, “Life is either a daring adventure or nothing. To keep our faces toward change and behave like free spirits in the presence of fate is strength undefeatable.”
When you keep your heart open incredible things happen
It has taken me 6 years to manifest my 1-year goal that I put down on paper in that yoga training in 2012. What I have learned is that when I keep my heart open and just let go, incredible things happen. You do things like fall in love with your ex husband, heal broken friendships, let go of areas of your life that no longer serve you, move to Arkansas, have a powerful relationship with your kids and grandkids, and even open a badass yoga studio. You marry your best friend and wake up every day with peace and love in your heart. You laugh, you dance, you cry and you thank God for His grace. You look back at the teachers that have kicked you out of the nest and cheered you on as you flew away. It feels like freedom and I like it a lot!!
Now let’s hear from you! What is possible in your life when shift happens? Let us know in the comments!
